Geordie Greep issues apology following sexual misconduct report in Paste

Musician Geordie Greep issued an Instagram statement on October 14, 2026, addressing allegations of sexual assault, as reported by The FADER, Billboard, and Rolling Stone. The response followed an interview published by Paste magazine in which a woman using the pseudonym Laura gave her account of the incident. [1][2][3][4][5][6][14]

According to Pitchfork, the accuser stated that she met Greep and his former touring keyboardist Cameron Campbell at a bar before visiting an apartment. Consequence and Pitchfork reported that Laura fell asleep on a couch while intoxicated and woke up to Greep kissing her. The FADER and Exclaim! noted that Campbell corroborated her statement that Greep tried to kiss her while she was sleeping. [1][2][3][9]

Consequence, Billboard, and Exclaim! reported that Laura denied involvement with flyers distributed outside Greep's October 8 concert in Vancouver that labeled him a rapist. According to Rolling Stone, Greep posted that he wanted to unreservedly apologise to her for the distress and hurt caused that night, calling it a huge mistake. [1][3][4][5][9]

As FTMQ Music reported earlier, remaining stops on Greep's North American tour were canceled after the accusation surfaced. Greep was previously the frontman and lead guitarist for the British rock group Black Midi from 2017 to 2024. [2][3][4][11][14]
