Musician Geordie Greep posted an apology on Instagram on October 14, 2026, following allegations that he sexually assaulted a woman while she was sleeping, Rolling Stone, The FADER, and Billboard reported. Speaking to Paste magazine under the pseudonym Laura, the woman stated that Greep kissed her while she was asleep and unable to give consent after an evening at an apartment. Greep stated that he wanted to unreservedly apologise for the distress caused, calling the incident a huge mistake, according to Rolling Stone and The FADER. [1][2][3][4][6]

The statement from the accuser clarified that Greep did not rape her, contradicting flyers handed out at a recent performance, Rolling Stone and Billboard reported. The FADER noted that Greep's former touring keyboardist, Cameron Campbell, corroborated her account of the events. Billboard added that Laura denied having any prior knowledge of the flyers distributed outside the venue. [1][2][3][4]

The public clarification follows an incident on October 8, 2026, where flyers labeling the singer a rapist were distributed outside The Pearl venue in Vancouver, as FTMQ Music reported earlier. Greep initially denied any wrongdoing on stage during the Vancouver performance. Following the accusation on October 8, multiple North American tour stops were canceled, including scheduled shows in Boise, Salt Lake City, Boulder, and Denver. [2][4][11]

Geordie Wade Greep is an English musician and singer who served as the frontman and lead guitarist for the British rock band Black Midi from 2017 to 2024. The group was recognized as part of the Windmill music scene in British rock. Following the recent allegations and public statements, the remainder of Greep's current tour dates across the United States and North America were canceled, according to The FADER and Billboard.
