A Chicago judge ruled in favor of rapper Chance the Rapper in the final stage of a long legal dispute with his former manager Pat Corcoran. Rolling Stone and Yahoo both reported that the court ordered Corcoran to forfeit compensation that could exceed $1.5 million. [1][2]

The ruling resolves a remaining breach of fiduciary duty claim that was decided by the court rather than the jury. Rolling Stone reported that the decision follows a March trial where the artist, whose legal name is Chancelor Bennett, prevailed against Corcoran regarding contract and interference claims. [1]

In a statement shared with Rolling Stone, Bennett said he was grateful to finally close this chapter of his life and that he looks forward to eventually telling his side of the story. [1]
