Summer Walker Sues Love Renaissance Over Alleged Hidden Digital Revenues

R&B singer Summer Walker has filed a lawsuit against Love Renaissance Records in an Atlanta court, accusing the independent label of fraud and asking a judge to void her contract. Rolling Stone reported that the lawsuit was filed as Walker also seeks to end her recording contract with Interscope Records. [1]

According to Rolling Stone and HotNewHipHop, Walker accuses Love Renaissance of withholding money and committing fraud. Rolling Stone reported that the ten page lawsuit alleges the label locked Walker into an onerous contract, misappropriated funds from her budgets, and denied her access to revenue from YouTube and Amazon pages featuring her name and likeness. Love Renaissance, which also operates as a management company, originally signed Walker before entering into a joint venture deal with Interscope Records, according to Rolling Stone. The Grammy-nominated artist previously released the hit single No Love under the partnership. [1]
