Oakland singer songwriter and visual artist Stephen Steinbrink released the single I am a Swimming Pool on October 27, 2026, Stereogum reported. The track is the final single to be issued before the release of his new album, In A Split Mirror, which comes out at the end of the week. [1]
According to Stereogum, the release of I am a Swimming Pool follows the previously shared lead single, Magic Mirror. The new song is accompanied by a colorful animated music video created by Steinbrink. [1]
Steinbrink explained that the song was inspired by childhood experiences in Arizona. He stated that he used to float face down in a friend's pool during Phoenix summers to achieve a feeling of total weightlessness. [1]
A swimming pool is a structure built into the ground or above ground that is designed to hold water for swimming. Steinbrink's full album In A Split Mirror will be available at the end of the week. [1][3]
