Archival footage accompanies Scott Weiland live album release

A new live album titled Scott Weiland: Live arrived on digital and compact disc formats on October 23, 2026, Consequence and Eddie Trunk reported. The collection marks the first live album from the late musician, following an earlier limited vinyl pressing distributed for Record Store Day, according to Consequence. [1][8][11]

Alongside the record, publishers released previously unseen performance footage of the track Vaseline, Consequence and Sonic Perspectives reported. The video features Weiland performing the Stone Temple Pilots track during his 2009 Happy in Galoshes solo tour at the House of Blues in Anaheim, California, according to Consequence. [1][8][9]

Consequence noted that the vocal execution in the live concert footage displays a melodic delivery that avoids the lower register tones found on the original studio recording. [1][8]

Weiland served as the lead singer for Stone Temple Pilots from 1989 through 2003, and again between 2008 and 2013, recording six studio projects with the group. He also fronted the rock supergroup Velvet Revolver from 2003 until 2008 and recorded four solo studio albums during his career. [13]
