The four original members of Talking Heads have collaborated to create a new book titled Talking Heads: New Feeling. Pitchfork and Rolling Stone both reported on October 21, 2026, that band members David Byrne, Tina Weymouth, Jerry Harrison, and Chris Frantz will release the title in May 2026. [1][2]

Pitchfork reported that the book is scheduled for release on May 18, 2026, through publisher Abrams Books. The release date aligns with the 50th anniversary of the band's debut album, Talking Heads: 77. Both Pitchfork and Rolling Stone reported that the coffee-table book includes handwritten lyrics, original album sketches, and private archival photos. [1][2]

In an interview with Abrams Books, Harrison stated that some of the archived photos have not left their collection in over 40 years. Pitchfork reported that the book features original essays from all four band members, alongside written contributions from artists and writers including Lorde, Debbie Harry, Karl Ove Knausgaard, and Jeff Bridges. [1]

Talking Heads formed in New York City in 1975, with Byrne, Frantz, Weymouth, and Harrison pioneering new wave music by combining elements of punk, art rock, funk, and world music. Happy Mag and Parade Magazine both reported that this release marks the group's first authorised book project together in decades. [3][4][5]
