Latin America accounted for 24 percent of Spotify's 306 million Premium subscribers at the end of September 2026. Music Business Worldwide reported that the data was disclosed in Spotify's third-quarter 2026 shareholder deck released on October 22, 2026. [1]
More than 10 percent of the population in Latin America now pays for Spotify, according to co-chief executive officer Alex Norström. Speaking on an earnings call on October 22, 2026, Norström stated that the exact share of the population in the region paying for the service is around 11 percent. [1]
Norström stated that Sweden serves as a demonstration of potential growth, where nearly 50 percent of the population pays for Spotify. Globally, less than 4 percent of the population pays for the platform, while key European markets such as the United Kingdom and Germany reach between 20 percent and 25 percent. [1]
The growth in subscriber figures coincided with financial market movements. 24/7 Wall St. reported that Spotify stock jumped 10 percent following the report as subscriber growth exceeded expectations. [4]
