Robyn Performs Tinashe and Teddybears Mashup on BBC Live Lounge

Swedish pop singer Robyn performed a mashup combining Tinashe's song Popstar and the Teddybears track Punkrocker on the BBC Live Lounge, Pitchfork reported on October 28, 2026. Pitchfork and Stereogum both report that the live performance merged the two compositions into a single radio session appearance. [1][2]

During the performance, Robyn opened with the first verse of Punkrocker, substituting the word pop star into its hook, according to Pitchfork. She then transitioned into the title track of Tinashe's recent release. The original Teddybears track features guest vocals from Iggy Pop, Pitchfork reported. [1]

The covered track Popstar serves as the title song for Tinashe's eighth studio album, which was released on September 25, 2026. As FTMQ Music reported earlier, the album came out through Tinashe's imprint Tinashe Music alongside Nice Life Recording Company and Atlantic Records, with primary production from Ricky Reed, Zach Sekoff, and Machinedrum. Tinashe's Popstar debuted at number six on the Billboard 200 chart in early October 2026. As FTMQ Music reported earlier, Tinashe previously performed tracks from the record alongside Charli XCX at Austin City Limits on October 9, 2026, and is scheduled to begin a North American headlining tour on April 14, 2027, in Dallas.
