Bruce Springsteen endorses Abdul El Sayed for Michigan Senate race

Musician Bruce Springsteen endorsed Democratic nominee Abdul El Sayed for the United States Senate seat in Michigan on November 2 2026. Billboard and Far Out Magazine reported that Springsteen shared a statement on Instagram backing El Sayed ahead of Election Day. Billboard and The Hill reported that Springsteen stated he is in El Sayed's corner 100 percent. [1][3][4][5][6]

Billboard and The Hill both reported that Springsteen praised the candidate in his social media post. Springsteen wrote that El Sayed is a fighter for the American Constitution and American democracy. Billboard added that Springsteen described him as a fighter against corrupt and anti American leadership. [1][5]

The election will take place on November 3 2026 to fill the seat vacated by Democratic incumbent Gary Peters, who is not seeking a third term. El Sayed, a former Wayne County health director and epidemiologist, won the Democratic nomination against U.S. Representative Haley Stevens. Stevens later endorsed Republican nominee Mike Rogers for the seat. [7][8][9]
