Metallica releases professional concert footage from Las Vegas Sphere residency

Metallica has released professionally shot concert videos featuring performances from their October 1, 2026, opening concert at the Las Vegas Sphere. Consequence, Consequence of Sound, and the San Francisco Chronicle all report that the heavy metal band shared official footage for the instrumental track The Call of Ktulu and the song And Justice for All. [1][2][3]

According to Consequence, the video performance for The Call of Ktulu includes a new orchestral introduction along with visual projections showing a large Cthulhu rising from the ocean. Guitarist Kirk Hammett and drummer Lars Ulrich performed on the tracks during the kickoff event of the residency. [1]

The band is performing unique setlists for every concert of the Las Vegas residency, as FTMQ Music reported earlier. The concert series at the Sphere began in October 2026 and is scheduled to run through November 7, 2026. The residency has also included first-time live performances of older material such as the 1996 single Until It Sleeps, which was produced by Bob Rock. [6][7]

The San Francisco Chronicle notes that the release of the official concert videos comes as secondary market ticket prices for the band's remaining Sphere residency dates have started to dip. [3]
