Metallica played the second night of their Life Burns Faster residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas on October 3, 2026. Consequence and Loudwire reported that the band fulfilled their promised no-repeat policy by performing a 16-song set with no repeated tracks or visuals from their opening performance on October 1. [1][2]
The performance featured several rare additions to the setlist. According to Consequence, the group opened with Blackened for the first time in an opening slot since 2014. Consequence, Loudwire, and Ultimate Classic Rock all reported that Metallica played Devil's Dance from their Reload album for the first time in 18 years. Consequence and Ultimate Classic Rock also noted that the band played The Outlaw Torn for the first time since 2019, though Ultimate Classic Rock stated the song featured on the 1996 album Load. [1][2][3]
The concert took place at the Sphere in Paradise, Nevada, near the Las Vegas Strip. The 17,600-seat arena features a 16K resolution interior LED screen and customized beamforming audio systems. According to Rock Sound, the venue's massive floor-to-ceiling screens presented brand new visuals tailored to the night two setlist. [4][11]
Ultimate Classic Rock reported that Metallica will continue their no-repeat weekend performances in Las Vegas until November 7, 2026. The residency is scheduled to resume early next year, running from January 28 to March 13. [3]
