The new North Carolina and Illinois experimental folk rock sextet Dowsers have signed to Gar Hole Records and released a double single titled Dogwood and Three Forks Of Cheat. The release was reported by The Line of Best Fit and Stereogum. [1][2]

According to Stereogum, the six member group consists of Courtney Werner, Evan Morgan, Austin Cash, Oliver Child-Lanning, James Gibian, and Alli Rogers. The musicians bring together background from several underground acts, including Magic Tuber Stringband, Weirs, Sluice, Fust, Beak Trio, and Alli Blois. [1]

The release takes titles from nature and geography. Dogwood refers to a genus of woody plants known for distinct blossoms, berries, and bark, which are native to temperate regions across Eurasia and North America. Three Forks Of Cheat references the Cheat River, a 78.3 mile long tributary located in West Virginia and Pennsylvania. [3][5]
