Journey co-founder and lead guitarist Neal Schon announced on Facebook that the band will continue touring on their Final Frontier Tour. Ultimate Classic Rock, The Music Universe, and DRGNews all reported that the guitarist confirmed the group has many reasons to keep playing. [1][2][3]
According to Ultimate Classic Rock, Schon wrote that the group completed 110 shows in 2026. He noted that their two and a half hour Evening with Journey sets are the longest performances the band has ever played, which brought the members closer together musically and personally. [1]
Schon is the last original member who has remained throughout the history of Journey. Before forming the rock band, he was a member of Santana, and he later played with Bad English and Hardline. [4]
As FTMQ Music reported earlier, Journey drummer Deen Castronovo previously suffered an onstage medical emergency on October 8, 2026, at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Drum tech Steve Toomey completed that show before Castronovo returned to perform in San Antonio, Texas, on October 10, 2026. [5]
