New wave group The B-52s will receive the 2,861st star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on October 29, 2026, Billboard reported. The ceremony is scheduled to take place at 11:30 a.m. Pacific Time on Hollywood Boulevard. [1]

According to Billboard, fellow 1970s and 1980s new wave band The Go-Go's and actor Fred Armisen will speak in honor of the group during the event. SiriusXM radio personality Ric Mitchell will also be involved in the ceremony. [1]

The B-52s formed in the late 1970s and achieved mainstream commercial success with hits including Love Shack, which was released in 1989. Band members Cindy Wilson, Fred Schneider, and Kate Pierson have continued to perform together publicly for decades. [1]

The Walk of Fame honor recognizes the lasting impact of the band on the new wave music scene and the broader music industry over their multi-decade career, Billboard reported. [1]
