Phoebe Bridgers reunites with boygenius for live performance film

Singer-songwriter Phoebe Bridgers has reunited with her boygenius bandmates Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus for a acoustic performance filmed at the Cherry Lane Theatre in New York. Spin, JamBase, Consequence, and Pitchfork all reported that the three-song set was filmed for Sound Check at Cherry Lane Theatre, a video series produced by A24, A24 Music, and the venue. The venue is located in Manhattan's West Village. [1][2][3][4]

The performance was directed by Lance Oppenheim, according to Consequence, Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, and Variety. JamBase, Consequence, and Pitchfork reported that the taping took place following Bridgers' sold-out, three-night concert run at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. During the session, Bridgers played her new original song "On Video" alongside her longtime producer Ethan Gruska. Spin, Consequence, and Pitchfork all reported that the track is featured in the A24 film Primetime, which Oppenheim directed. [1][2][3][4][6][10]

Bridgers then reconvened boygenius to perform songs together. Pitchfork and mxdwn Music reported that the trio played the tracks "Lost Boys" and "Haunted." JamBase added that the group performed material from Bridgers' new album, Lost Weekend. [2][4][8]

Bridgers formed the supergroup boygenius with Baker and Dacus in 2018 [11]. As FTMQ Music reported earlier, Bridgers is also scheduled to headline the 25th anniversary edition of Primavera Sound Barcelona at Parc del Fòrum in June 2027 [12]. [11][12]
