Nigerian Singer Fola Releases Sophomore Album Titled 9

Nigerian singer, songwriter, and performer Fola released his sophomore album, titled 9, on November 1, 2026. Tunesloaded reported that the project contains 14 tracks and features prominent artists in African music. Born Afolarin Odunlami, the musician originally rose to prominence in 2022 after releasing his critically acclaimed single Ginger Me, which featured Bella Shmurda. [1][6]

Fola subsequently signed with the record label Dangbana Republik and issued his debut extended play, titled what a feeling, in 2024. His commercial reach expanded further in 2024 following the release of his hit single Alone, which featured artist BhadBoi OML. [1][6]

The new release follows Fola's debut studio album, Catharsis, which came out on September 5, 2025. Tunesloaded noted that the previous 11-track album featured guest appearances from Nigerian artists Victony, Kizz Daniel, Gabzy, and Young Jonn, helping the singer build a larger audience across the regional music market. Audio files distributed online for the release utilize the MP3 audio coding format. The technology was developed in Germany by the Fraunhofer Society under Karlheinz Brandenburg to compress original digital audio file sizes by 75 to 95 percent depending on the chosen bit rate. [1][5]
