Fiona Apple and her backing group the Bolt Cutters have recorded a cover of Mother Earth's 1968 protest song Revolution, Rolling Stone, Stereogum, and Consequence all reported on 2026-11-06. The track will be included on Right Now, a upcoming charity album produced by Dougie Bowne. Proceeds from the release are set to benefit the humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders. [1][2][3]

According to Consequence, Apple released the song to mark the results of the mid-term elections on Tuesday. Rolling Stone reported that the recording was shared publicly via the Instagram account of Zelda Hallman, who is Apple's roommate and best friend. Consequence also noted that the track was made available to stream on the platform. [1][3]

The track features Apple alongside Davíd Garza, Sebastian Steinberg, and Amy Aileen Wood, who collectively make up the Bolt Cutters, Rolling Stone and Consequence reported. According to Rolling Stone, the musicians recorded their respective parts remotely from locations including Los Angeles, Houston, and the East Coast. Wood mixed the individual elements together, and the group stated that she brought them together to capture the energy of the moment. [1][3]

The release follows other recent projects from Apple earlier in the year, Stereogum reported. The outlet noted that she released a track for the television series Lucky and contributed as a co-writer on a song for the debut album of Cara Delevingne. Stereogum also reported that Apple posted a video to her fans in July, where she mentioned having difficulty writing about the endless barrage of horrors in the world. [2]

Apple is an American singer and songwriter who has sold over 15 million records worldwide. All five of her studio albums have reached the top 20 of the Billboard 200 chart, and she has won three Grammy Awards during her career. [5]
