Aerosmith has scheduled two comeback concerts at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on October 29 and November 1. As reported by JamBase, Spin, Consequence, Loudwire, Pollstar, and Rolling Stone, the band is returning to live performance with multiple special guests for the event. Spin, Consequence, and Loudwire noted that the concerts are billed under the title California, Dream On: Aerosmith and Friends. [1][2][3][4][5][7]
The guest lineup includes The Black Crowes, Slash, Tom Morello, Sammy Hagar, Jerry Cantrell, Heart, and Run-DMC, according to Spin, Consequence, and Rolling Stone. Rolling Stone also reported that Billy Idol, Eric Church, and Duff McKagan will perform during the two dates. [2][3][7]
The upcoming concerts represent the first live shows for Aerosmith since September 2023, according to Consequence and Ultimate Classic Rock. Consequence and Loudwire noted that the band had previously retired from touring following a vocal injury suffered by singer Steven Tyler in 2023. Pollstar reported that this is the band's first live show in three years. [3][4][5][6]
The single Dream On was originally released in 1973 on Columbia Records before becoming a top ten hit in the United States when re-released in December 1975. The band's debut studio album, Aerosmith, reached number 21 on the US Billboard 200 chart in 1976. [11]
The two October and November dates at the venue bookend a pair of previously scheduled shows by My Chemical Romance at the Hollywood Bowl, according to Loudwire. [4]
